Junkichi Mukai also draws paintings, roofs where both ends of the screech are tiled was a characteristic roof common in Nara prefecture until about 2000.

Nara prefecture as well as thatched roof disappeared as the roof of the whole country in Japan was torn down or changed to a tin roof.

My father was indignant at the Yamato Folk Park where Nara prefecture's private houses were relocated and restored, if there were no house of roof where both ends were characteristic of Nara prefecture and were made of roof tiles.
